Jeffrey Rose is a barrister with 25 years’ experience in the legal profession. After practicing as a commercial solicitor for over 17 years, with particular emphasis in commercial litigation, he came to the bar in 2011.
Jeffrey is regularly briefed as Counsel in interlocutory hearings and has experience in applying for urgent interlocutory relief.
He appears regularly on his own and led by senior counsel in numerous state and federal jurisdictions, including the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the New South Wales Court of Appeal and the Supreme, District and Local Courts of New South Wales. He also accepts briefs to appear appears in interstate courts, and in Commonwealth statutory tribunals.
Jeffrey was appointed as a legal member of NCAT, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, in October 2017.
In 2016-2018 Jeffrey was briefed to appear for Scouts Australia in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Jeffrey is also a legal officer with the Royal Australian Navy, where he holds a commission as a Lieutenant. He regularly provides legal advice to Command and to Defence members on matters of administrative law, discipline law and operations law. He was awarded the Australian Active Service Medal for active service with the International Coalition against Terrorism as part of Operation Slipper in 2013. He also holds the Australian Defence Medal and the National Medal.
